I happened upon Yoga whilst studying for my BA in Textile Design and was quickly hooked on the sense of peace and well-being I had at the end of the class. I started practising at home and with friends and going to regular classes and it happily made more and more space for itself in my life. It has become a very reliable friend to help me through the ups and downs, twists and turns of life. For me my personal practice and the practice of teaching have been a wonderful ever unfolding of the art of how to live in a nourishing, balanced and harmonious way.
Since I began teaching in 1998 I’ve enjoyed working and sharing my love of Yoga with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and different physical capacities from school children, to city workers to athletes to those suffering from burn-out and MS. I also work with pregnant women and post-natally with Mums and babies having trained with Birthlight, for whom I am also a tutor.
Whether working with myself or with others it’s the everyday transformations – big and small miracles, that Yoga brings that keep me smiling and on the quest of discovery. It has given me a great reverence for life in all its forms.
I continue to study with my wonderful Ashtanga teachers John & Lucy Scott, with the inspirational Françoise Barbira-Freedman at Birthlight and to return to the simplicity and wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh and his monastic community in Plum Village, France.
In deep gratitude, I bow to all my teachers in the long lineage of Yoga Masters.
